Broken Exports
When exporting from Tyrano, it doesn’t just "BREAK THE GAME"—it betrays you. The export function is like that shady coworker who changes your work behind your back. Each time you export, Tyrano gleefully “updates” your labels, jumps, and stops without asking, even if everything was working perfectly during testing. It’s like Tyrano is alive—constantly messing with your project just to watch you squirm. And it always strikes in the same place, usually in the default 1scene tab or whichever tab you dared to have open at the time.
And whatever you do... NEVER USE CTRL+Z... you've been warned...
After exporting, you’ll need to manually fix stops, jumps, or labels that mysteriously break. Often, this means copying and pasting the same code over itself without making any visible changes, just to "wake it up." The code appears fine on the surface, but when you run the executable, the game bugs out. It’s an ongoing glitch, requiring constant tweaking each time you export, whether for Windows, browser, or another platform.
Tyrano is not recommended, even for small projects. It breaks itself, making it seem like you made a mistake, when in reality, Tyrano just randomly alters something unseen. While it’s an “easy” tool, you’ll quickly outgrow its limited functions. Even simple things like menu buttons (sound, quit, settings) have to be coded manually. I managed to get basic sound and quit functions working, but creating a settings/config menu was nearly impossible—it worked 90%, but you couldn’t leave the settings screen.
As a beginner developer program, I rate Tyrano 1/5. It’s not even suitable for simple, short games. If you’re serious about making real games, you’ll outgrow Tyrano very quickly, and it’ll end up collecting dust once you become even a slightly better developer. You’re better off starting with the program you actually want to learn. Tyrano doesn’t teach much because it bugs out so often. Even if your code is fine, Tyrano just doesn’t care.
As a hobbyist program, I’d give it 3/5. If you’re not aiming to be a game designer and just want to make short stories for fun, it’s okay. I used it in the past when I was into hobby projects, and it was fine for that. But now that I have coding experience, Tyrano not only feels limiting, IT IS LIMITING. Even with it's learning curve, just go with Ren’Py, date it for a good month seriously(if you only wish to make novels, you'll appreciate it 1000 times more - it can do much more. Though my PC just seemed to hate it and it would overheat my computer in minutes. But since we plan to not only do JUST VN games, but games with a visual novel base, Ren’Py would not be for us anyways. Time to delete Tyrano and move this project into it's real home.
We'll See you in future jams!

Working on this project with everyone was a blast! Can't wait until the full release of the game.(nXn)

NO! Working with you all was the best part of this. There's so much work ahead, and our personal lives feel like they’re running on Tyrano logic >->
But despite the project bumps and outside chaos, you guys never quit. You always found time to get another small part or detail done.
You handled criticism so well each time. I hope it helps build your indie game music venture, even if it was just sound effects this time. You're a diamond—just needs a little polish, but you shine!
I'll be bothering you for VA in the final version. Thanks for your time, and I’m glad we made our team official this month! Lets keep it building!
